St. John's Church
Situated about 8 km from the lower city and nestled in a lush pine forest, is the magnificent St. John's church is the final resting place of Lord Elgin, one of the Viceroys of India who died in 1863.The Church built in the neo-gothic style as was in vogue in the nineteenth century has beautiful Belgian stained-glass windows and a Christian cemetery on its grounds. Namgyal monastry
The Namgyal Monastery founded in the 15th century by the Second Dalai Lama was relocated to Dharamshala in 1959 after the Tibetan uprising. The monastery houses about 200 Tibetan monks who preserve the traditions of the Tibetan community. The monastery teaches Buddhism including philosophy, artwork, rituals, musical instruments, and various dance forms. Visitors experience the divine in its soothing ambience.

Main Road McLeod Ganj
McLeod Ganj is a picturesque suburb of Dharamshala with a large Tibetan population. The main landmark in this suburb is the Tsuglagkhang complex which is the home of the 14th Dalai Lama. You can begin your journey just outside the top station of Dharamshala skyway, seek blessings of His Holy Highness, The Dalai Lama and then head out into the main street dotted with quaint little shops and cafes selling handicrafts, hiking essentials and Tibetan delicacies like momos and thukpa alongside steaming hot cups of chai, parathas and kulche chhole.

Jwalamukhi temple
The famous Jwalamukhi temple dedicated to Goddess Durga is a must visit attraction near the city. As per mythology, the tongue of Sati fell here and the Goddess manifests herself through the blue flames that rise from the fissures in the rocks. There is no idol in the temple. However, there is a platform and well, donated by the King of Nepal. The temple is nestled in the valley against the majestic Dhauladhars.

Bhagsunag falls
Bhagsunag falls is one of the major attractions of Dharamshala. Visitors prefer to visit the falls on their way to Triund as it is hardly 10 km from the lower city and 2 km from McLeod Ganj. The towering falls make a spectacular sight from a distance with the water gushing down from a height of almost 20 m with a force to reckon with, especially in the monsoon. Take a dip in the chilly water and then visit the nearby Bhagsunag temple dedicated to Lord Shiva before a scrumptious snack in the nearby cafes.
